To our ASTE Members,
Thank you to those who voted in our 2021 election cycle. It is vitally important that members of ASTE participate in the elections process. This year, we had 141 members vote from our membership of 626, representing 23% of our organization. Low voter participation continues to hover over our elections process, so we do hope that you will take a few minutes to cast your ballot in the next cycle of elections.
Our newly elected officers and committee members for ASTE are:
President-Elect: Andrea Burrows
Board Members at Large: Mark Bloom and Lisa Borgerding
Elections Committee: Preethi Titu, Ron Hermann, and Natasha Cooke-Nieves
These newly elected members begin their new terms at the 2022 conference in Greenville, SC.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2021 ASTE election process. It is so important for our members to nominate highly qualified individuals to serve the organization. A strong list of nominees enables the Elections Committee to put forth a ballot of highly capable and qualified individuals for each elected position. Please consider nominating someone in the coming cycle or running for office yourself next year. As you consider potential nominees, please know that the following criteria are used to determine the final slate of candidates: service to ASTE committees and forums, service to ASTE conferences, and service to ASTE and NSTA related journals (see rubric at https://theaste.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/ASTE-Elections-Rubric-Revised-03-06-14.pdf).
Thank you again for your participation in the elections process.
ASTE Elections Committee,
Amanda Glaze-Crampes, Co-Chair, Jeanna Wieselmann, Co-Chair
Julie Contino, Helen Meyer, Ingrid Carter, Max Longhurst (Equity Member)
