Experiential Learning in Online Courses
Virtual Symposium
April 3 and 4, 2023
In online courses, experiential learning refers to the course- or field-based opportunities (e.g., simulations, eService-learning, co-ops, practicums, internships, and community-based projects) that take place using the internet. Experiential Learning in Online Courses 2023 is a virtual symposium funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada that aims to bring together stakeholders from around the world to reimagine experiential learning in online spaces. Specifically, it aims to help stakeholders connect, exchange knowledge, and share research they can use directly in practice.
We invite graduate students, professors, and community members to share their experiences with or research experiential learning in online courses. Experiential Learning in Online Courses 2023 is an opportunity for you to share what worked or what didn’t work and learn from others in the field of online experiential learning.
Students, professors, and community members can submit abstracts to present individually or in a team. Abstracts should be 250 words and unstructured. The deadline for submission is March 1, 2023. For all inquiries or to submit an abstract by email, contact Dr. Katherine Moreau at the University of Ottawa: kmoreau@uottawa.ca.
Should you wish to attend the symposium, whether as a presenter or a non-presenter, please register on our website, https://elonline.ca/contact/. Registration is free, and presentations will be recorded and accessible to all who register. There will be live networking and brainstorming opportunities for those who attend synchronously. The agenda will be made available on our website.
